With the Luca App, guests visiting our hotels and restaurants in Germany can use their smart phones to check in and check out via a single click. Their visit is documented anonymously.

The hotel or restaurant provides an individual QR code via which guests can register their presence. There is no need for the app to be installed for this check-in procedure to take place. The QR code can simply be scanned, and guests are then directed to a web interface where they enter their own details. Data is uploaded to the Luca app system in encrypted form and can only be subsequently decoded by the relevant local health authorities.

Users save personal data such as name, address and telephone number in the Luca app on a one-off basis. This information is verified via the telephone number. Every hotel or restaurant has an individual code, via which the guest can check in. At the end of the visit, guests then use the app to check out of the hotel or restaurant in question. The relevant data is uploaded to the system of the Luca app in encrypted form. The data can only be decrypted by the relevant health authority, but only if authorised by the hotel or restaurant. The health authority will inform any guests affected at a particular location should a case of infection occur.
